Krugans was the first company in the world to launch a specific gi for Jiu-Jitsu. On February 9th, 1996 we created the Gi in all braided fabric, seamless on the back and sides making a much more resistant and comfortable kimono. In the 80s, Jiu-Jitsu practitioners wore Judo Gis for their training. It is much heavier due to the thickness and loose fitting. The Jiu-Jitsu kimono became more resistant in parts that used to be fragile in Judo Gi, with a more comfortable fit thinking about the typical movements of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. “It was a gi created by fighters for fighters,” recalls Viking, founder of Krugans Kimonos.
