Description
Brand: Illinois Watch CompanyModel: The Lincoln Watch (Abraham Lincoln)
Age: 1913
Medium: Chromolithography pigment transfer on Canvas (Not dot matrix, but applied to a wood block or copper plate similar to an etching or wood block process). This piece also has hand applied brush strokes on top of the plate applied pigment. This is such an interesting piece. Most books/games were done with early Chromolithography with thick pigments. The liths we see today are machine dot matrix. The old liths were Artist made plates with hand applied pigments. Some even had hand coloring applied after which is why early liths are so great compared to the ones today. Sorry, I studied Fine Art in College and geek out over this stuff.

The wooden stretcher doesn't need adjusted due to decades of humidity which is rare in most old paintings. The frames has some cosmetic marks. Nice piece. See pictures. Sold as is.
Note: This is yet another "Hard to Find" piece. I am focusing more and more on finding these type of items. I don't care for selling common stuff.

Paintings take a lot more time and protective materials. I might do a box inside of box with this or a rather large package for safer shipping. I will probably use at least 3 materials including thick solid foam Styrofoam as liner.
